Philip Eugene Teschner

A family service for Philip Eugene Teschner, 83, Royal Dunes Circle, Ormond Beach, who passed away Wednesday, will be held in Maine and a memorial service will be held locally at a later date. Phil was born in Cambridge, Mass.,and moved to this area from Bay Village, Ohio, Los Altos, Calif., and from Wellesley, Mass. He graduated from Newton (Mass.) High School and Brown University. At Brown University, he was president of student government, an All-American collegiate football player and had the honor to play in the East West Shrine game in 1944. A Navy veteran of World War II, Phil became the Vice President of Arkwright Insurance of Boston and retired after 35 years of service. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, Oceanside Country Club, Halifax River Yacht Club, Ormond Beach Historical Society, The Newcomen Society, Elks, Moose, Masons and Museum of Arts and Sciences. Phil enjoyed people, his church, golfing, playing bridge and his favorite times were with his family and friends, and spending time in Ellsworth, Maine. Phil was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Hanna; his parents, Edward and Pauline; and his brothers, Douglas and Edward. Survivors include three sons, Philip Jr., Palo Alto, Calif., Paul and his wife, Cheryl, Santa Maria, Calif., and Peter and his wife, Elizabeth, Ormond Beach; two granddaughters, Dawn Marie and Devan Hanna, Santa Maria, Calif.; his brothers, Arvin and Allen; and many wonderful nieces, nephews and friends.
