Richard Ekerberg Obituary

DEBARY - Richard "Dick" Ekerberg, 81, of West Highbanks Road, a resident since 1991, died Saturday at home. Mr. Ekerberg, a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, was born in Fargo, N.D., and moved to this area from Oviedo. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8093, DeBary, and the American Legion 0053, Sanford. He was also a former drag-racer. Mr. Ekerberg enjoyed camping. Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Shirley; three sons, John Moratis Jr., DeLand, Robert Ekerberg, Garden City, Ga., and Richard Ekerberg Jr., Guyton, Ga.; a daughter, Rochelle Brown, Fort White; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Lane, Port Orange, FL 32129. Tri-County Cremation, Longwood, is in charge.
