Richard Welshans Obituary

PORT ORANGE - Richard Harry Welshans, 66, of Crane Point Drive, who retired in 2000 as a project engineer from Lockheed-Martin, died Friday at Shand's Teaching Hospital, Gainesville. A native of Williamsport, Pa., Mr. Welshans, an Army veteran moved here in 1978 from Pennsylvania. He was a graduate of the University of Central Florida. He was a member of Epiphany Catholic Church and the Crane Lakes Men's Golf Association. He enjoyed gardening and his pets. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Janet; a son, Richard Jr., Alexandria, Va.; a daughter, Sharon Hebert, Mount Pocono, Pa.; two brothers, Floyd, Montoursville, Pa., and James, Floral City; and a grandson. Memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 1421 E. 12 Mile Road, Madison Heights, MI 48071. Volusia Memorial, Port Orange, is in charge.
