Roberta Finley Hardebeck

New Smyrna Beach - Roberta Ann Finley Hardebeck, 102, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother of New Smyrna Beach, FL and formerly of Williamson, WV, died Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at Halifax Health Hospice, Port Orange.

She was born January 28, 1919, in Kenova, WV, a daughter of the late Harry W. and Sara Teresa Miller Finley. She was a graduate of Williamson High School; served on the Board of the Appalachian Regional Hospital; was a charter member of the Appalachian Regional Hospital Ladies Auxiliary; and volunteered for that organization for 33 years. Roberta was a member of the Williamson Women's Club and was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Williamson, WV. She also served on the Board of the Williamson Memorial Library for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett H. Hardebeck, Sr. and two sisters, Mary Jo Finley Hammond and Evangeline Finley Lynch; daughter-in-law, Bonny Chapman Hardebeck; and great-granddaughter, Shelby Jane Hardebeck. She is survived by two daughters and three sons, Barbara Adamson (John) of Strasburg, VA; Teresa New (Ervin) of Pinedale, WY; Bill Hardebeck of Grand Haven, MI; Herb Hardebeck (Mary Ann) of Eau Claire, WI; and John Hardebeck (Mary Jo) of Port Orange, FL; six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. The family will receive friends at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home in New Smyrna Beach on Wednesday, July14, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at a later date at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Williamson, WV and followed by the burial in Huntington, WV.
