Funeral Services for Deacon Steve Fryson, Sr., 74, S. Daytona, who passed on September 21, 2018, will be 2 PM, Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Madison Heights COGIC, with Bishop Robert B. Thomas, Pastor, Apostolic Faith Temple, delivering the main eulogy. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 5-7 PM, today (Fri, Sept 28) at RJ Gainous Funeral Home and from 12:30 PM until service time at the church on Saturday. Mr. Fryson was born January 22, 1944 to Cora Fryson and the late Charlie Cromartie in Sarasota, FL. He was a 1962 graduate of Gibbs High School, St. Petersburg, FL, and received an AS degree from Daytona Bch Community College. He played guitar for Abe and the House Rocker's Band and coached Little League Baseball. He retired after 20 years as supervisor with the City of S. Daytona Water Dept. He was a member Apostolic Faith Temple where he was baptized and saved and also served as guitarist. Steve was preceded in death by a daughter: Rosita Fryson; He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years: Evangeline Fryson; son: Stephen Fryson, Jr. (Deborah); mother: Cora Moultra; two grandsons: Stephen Fryson, III and Tyler Fryson; a brother: Stanley Cromartie (Doretta); sisters: Demaris Cromartie Mack, Faya Cromartie; two sisters-in-law: Janice Merritt Britt, Mae Francis Irving; a daughter in the Lord: Deborah Carwise; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
