Thomas Cappetta Obituary

Cappetta, Thomas C., 81, Edgewater, died Saturday, March 24, 2007 at Oceanview Nursing Home. Friends may call the funeral home today (Monday) from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Burial will take place at the Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, N.Y. Mr. Cappetta was born June 11, 1925 in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II. Mr. Cappetta married Helen Keller on February 1, 1947 and he worked for Pennsylvania Railroad in New York for 34 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, American Legion, Brooklyn, N.Y. and USNLST Assoc. for many years. Mr. Cappetta is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Helen; son, Thomas and daughter-in-law, Katherine, of Coram, N.Y.; daughter, Maria and son-in-law, Stephen Wisnoski, of West Hampton, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Alexander, Lisa-Marie, Thomas, and John; two great-grandchildren, Aaliyah and Tyson; sister, Josephine Venezia, of Farmingdale, N.Y.; and brother, Constantino Cappetta, of Riverhead, N.Y. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.

I found the memorium on the internet and realized right away who this was -Tom was my first cousin and a favorite of my father Emil--I still think of all the great times the Cappetta family had at 265 Clarkson Avenue in Brooklyn--
--Had great fun with Tom's son Tommy , my second cousin. Remember his mom Helen, my very much loved Uncle Sam and Aunt Josie, Sean and Gus (Constantino--my middle name for our grandfather.... Time passes too quickly wish we could all go back for a day! Love to all Emil
