Thomas Galletta Obituary
Thomas Galletta, age 85, of Edgewater, entered Heaven on Friday, December 20, 2013. Born May 15, 1928 in Astoria, New York, Mr. Galletta was the 8th of nine children. He served 2 years in the United States Navy and returned home to marry his Sweetheart, Barbara Foray. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters. Tom and his family moved to this area from Stony Brook, New York in 1980. A carpenter by trade, his true gift was wood carving, and although he is no longer with us, his work lives on. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Barbara; daughter, Donna, her husband Ko, and their four sons, Jake, Rudy, Sean, and Nico, and also survived by his daughter, Gayle, and her husband Bjorn, and their two sons, Erik and Nikolas, and daughter, Annika. We will miss you always. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 27, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in New Smyrna Beach. Burial will follow at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens in Edgewater. Calling hours will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 26 at Settle-Wilder's New Smyrna Beach chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mr. Galletta's name to Edgewater Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 100, Edgewater, Florida 32132 or Gifts of Love Community Coalition, P.O. Box 224, New Smyrna Beach, Florida 32170. Condolences may be made online at www.settlewilderfuneralhome.com
