WALTER CLEMONS Obituary
Walter C. Clemons, 85, Daytona Beach passed away Friday, December 3, 2010 at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach. Mr. Clemons was born in Sumner, Florida and moved to this area in 1966 from Jacksonville, Florida. He was an Army veteran of World War II having fought in the Battle of the Bulge. A retired barber, Mr. Clemons was a member of South Daytona Christian Church where he was an elder for many years. He loved his church and socializing with everyone and enjoyed gardening. Mr. Clemons was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Mary Ellen and son, Walter. Survivors include a daughter, Vivian Dalrymple, Daytona Beach; grandchildren, Jo Ellen Katz and David Branham; daughter, Jeanne (Ronny) Gainey, Oak Island, NC; two sisters in law, Jean Clemons, Florida and Fran Henderson, Ormond Beach; cousin, A.J. (Betrinda) Mims, Jacksonville, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of other remembrances the family requests donation be made in his memory to South Daytona Christian Church, 2121 Kenilworth Ave. South Daytona, FL 32119. Walter was a great man who loved his family and friends very much. As his neigbor I enjoyed talking with him on many occations. I was always captivated by his stories and life lessons. When I moved to this area Walter was the first to welcome me with open arms, he even invited me to join him and his family in church. That was just the beginning of a wonderful friendship that lasted for over Twelve years. Walter will be greatly missed. However I know he is at peace with Mary and Walter who he missed very much. My prayers and condolences to Vivian and the rest of the family. God bless.
