William George Levene, 78, resident of Palm Coast, FL, transitioned peacefully on December 25, 2018 in Ormond Beach, FL. He was born August 20, 1940 in Black River in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, the son of George and Elethia Levene. William graduated from Kingston Technical High School in Kingston, Jamaica where he studied Electricity. He married the love of his life, Gwendolyn Louise (Fraser) and they settled in Kingston prior to migrating to the United States. They celebrated 52 years of marriage on December 3, 2018. William settled in Mount Vernon, NY in 1972 where he established his family with Gwen. He became an active member of The First Presbyterian Church (FPC) in Mount Vernon, NY in 1973 and was a Deacon, member of the Chancel Choir, Men's Choir and was a founding member of The FPC Caribbean Club. He remained a dedicated member of FPC for 45 years. Prior to his retirement to Palm Coast, FL he was employed as a Power Station Engineer at Consolidated Edison in NYC for 32 years. In addition to his parents, William was predeceased by a sister, Audrey and a brother, Winston. He is survived by his wife Gwendolyn (Fraser) Levene, brothers, Charles and George, sister, Mavis, children, Corine Wright and her husband Patrick, Norman Williams, Kurt Levene, Candace Levene, Dr. Lezli Levene-Harvell and her husband Christopher Harvell; eight grandchildren, Kyra Levene, Zuri Levene-Harvell, Nava Levene-Harvell, Zera Harvell, Gavin Levene, Lux Harvell, Lotus Harvell, Sloane Levene, and numerous nieces and nephews. The wake and visitation are scheduled for Monday, January 7 from 4 – 7 p.m. at Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach. A celebration of his life will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 8 at Trinity Presbyterian Church 156 Florida Park North, Palm Coast. Interment will be at Craig-Flagler Palms Cemetery, Flagler Beach.
