David Glenn Obituary

Capt. (Ret.) David Matthew Glenn

Captain (Ret.) David Matthew Glenn closed his eyes at home and opened them in Heaven on Friday, December 16, 2016 where he was joyously met by his father Joe and other loved ones who have been waiting for him there.

David was born January 30, 1967, the second son of Joe and Linda (Glore) Glenn. On January 6, 2003 David married the one true love of his life, Tracy Conrad. He was never shy about letting people know that Tracy was perfect and he made sure every day that she knew he felt that way. They loved each other fiercely for every day that God gave them. Their greatest gift to their children is the example they set of a loving, happy marriage.

David retired as a Captain with the Greene County Sheriff's Department when his health became too poor to allow him to continue to do the job he loved. During his time with the Department he made lifelong friendships and earned the respect of his fellow officers and coworkers. Even after his retirement and throughout his illness David felt a deep and abiding loyalty to the Greene County Sheriff's Department and he would allow no disrespect to be shown to law enforcement.

David was preceded in death by his father Joe, his paternal grandparents, Otis and Allie Glenn, his maternal grandfather, Frank Glore and Tracy's MaMa Eunice Clevenhagen. David is survived by his beloved wife Tracy, two sons John (Amber) Glenn and Robbie Davis, two daughters Hope Glenn and Maria Glenn, his mother Linda Glenn, his grandmother Hilda Glore, his brother Mark (Shirley) Glenn, mother-in-law Judy Conrad, brother-in-law, Clint (Jennifer) Conrad, sisters-in-law, Theresa (Craig) Setzer, Tammy (Chris) Hughes, and Bethany (Keith) Boaz and his two special "babies", Averie and Brady Boaz. David also leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many other family members and friends all of whom he loved and that loved him. He will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered. Arrangements for David are under the direction of Westrip Funeral Home at 39670 State Highway 413 in Crane, Missouri. Visitation will be held Monday, December 19th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 20th at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Marionville, Missouri with burial to follow in the Marionville 100F Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to Freeway Ministries in Springfield, Missouri. These may be made at Freeway-Ministries.com or left at the funeral home.
