Earl Dean Pratt

Earl Dean Pratt, 85, Springfield, MO, passed away on November 12, 2016. Earl was born July 16, 1931 in Springfield, MO to Fred and Zella Pratt. He attended Ava High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Earl married Patricia M. McFarlin on February 3, 1955, and they lived and loved sixty-one wonderful years together. He worked for Maytag after serving in the Navy and later opened his own appliance repair service. Farming was Earl's passion. He maintained several farms over the years where he raised beef cattle and harvested hay. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Golda Mae Eddy; his brother, George David Pratt; and his daughter, Debra Pratt Hicks. He is survived by his wife, Patricia M. Pratt; his daughter, Bettina Gay Peck and her husband Steve Peck; his son, Frederick Neal Pratt and his wife Linda Pratt; daughter, Myra Elizabeth Kleier and her husband Terry Kleier; his grandchildren; John Earl Cook, Casey Keller, Joshua Dean Peck, Kristin Rachelle Melton, Jason Charles Peck, Katie Michelle Melton Wells, Kelsey Lynn Kleier, Taylor Jennae Kleier, and many great-grandchildren and friends. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00pm on Friday, November 18, 2016, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Services will be held Saturday, November 19th, 10:00am, also at Greenlawn North, followed by a graveside service at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. A special thank you and appreciation to the staff at Ozark Dialysis. He loved his nurses and you helped make dialysis bearable. Earl was loved by so many—his smiling face, good humor, and kind loving heart will remain forever in our fond memories.
