Edward L. Haines

Edward Lloyd Haines, 78, Springfield, Missouri formerly of Chatham, IL, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2012. He was born October 27, 1933, in Toronto, Illinois, to Ira and Bessie (Grieme) Haines.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Henry, Thomas, Harry, Donald, Harold Eugene, and Shirley Ann.

Edward is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy Jean (Mendenhall) Haines; daughter, Terri Hardin and husband Ed, Mt. Vernon, IN; and son, Michael Haines and wife Leanne, Springfield, MO; granddaughter, Claire Haines; step-grandchildren, Stacy Hardin, Jason, Hardin, Nicolas Langley, Katelin Langley; step-great-granddaughter, Emma Hardin; and siblings, John, Chatham, IL, Robert, Manhattan, KS, twin sister, Edith Sausaman, Springfield, IL, Betty Redpath, Chatham, Il, and Wilma Kerr, Waywood, TX.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, 2001 W. Walnut Lawn, Springfield, MO.

I remember when Ed's son and my son were on the track team at Glenwood. We sat together may times. Always enjoyed our conversations. Ed was a great person and a very nice guy. I am sure he will sorely missed by family
