Elizabeth Mildred Rosendahl

Elizabeth Mildred (Hefti) Rosendahl was born on the winter solstice of 1924 in Skokie, Illinois and she died on Christmas morning, 2019 at her home in Springfield, Missouri, she was 95. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her father, Otto Dewey Hefti (d.1954), mother, Nelle DeMoss Hefti (d.1961), her maternal grandmother, Emma (Watson) Grigg (d.1950), Barnard L. Hefti (d.1976), and Elizabeth's twin Brother, Eugene H. Hefti (d. 1943). Elizabeth was a devout St Louis Cardinal fan from childhood. On a blind date, Bettie met Master Sargent, Robert D Rosendahl; it was the fourth of July 1946 and it was love at first sight. Bob proposed and they were married 30 days later on August 15, 1946. Bettie remained Bob's bride for 73 years. Together Bettie and Bob had six children: Roberta Wise (d. 2014) and husband Clark (d.2014), John Rosendahl and wife Patty, Eirik Rosendahl and wife Linda, Martha Gaska and husband Dr. Walt Gaska, Kathleen Rosendahl-Garcia and husband Rick Garcia, and Ben Rosendahl and wife Beth. Bettie was a grandmother to eight, had dozens of bonus grands, and great-grandmother to five.

The family wishes to thank Drs. Meldi, Cochran and Leonardo and all of the compassionate staff at Good Shepherd Hospice who tenderly transitioned Mom's passage with grace. A celebration of life with internment at the Springfield Veterans Cemetery is being planned.
