Farris Craig Obituary

Farris L. Craig passed away February 11, 2006, at Salem, Mo. He was 80 at the time of his death. The son of Vorris E. Craig and Ludie Sanders Craig was born in St. Louis, August 16, 1925. He was educated in Crawford County Schools and was a graduate of the Steelville High School Class of 1943. On September 3, 1948, he married Alice Lou Kettinger. They became the parents of two daughters, Linda Lou Roaseau and Brenda Lea Craig. They also raised Farris's two younger brothers, Gerald "Jerry" Craig and Gary A. Craig, whose parents died at an early age. Farris was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years and his parents. He is survived by two daughters, Linda Lou Roaseau and husband, Larry, of Key Largo, Fla., and Brenda Lea Craig, of Overland Park, Kan. one grandson, Craig M. Meierhoffer, of Columbus, Ohio two granddaughters, Allison D. Wells, of Overland Park, Kan., and Molly L. Meierhoffer, of New Orleans, La. He is also survived by two special step grandchildren, Robyn Arregui, of Blue Springs, Mo., Lindsey Thompson, of West Plains, Mo. two brothers, Jerry Craig and wife, Meredith, and Gary Craig and wife, Jann, of Salem a brother-in-law, Lawrence C. Kettinger, Jr., and wife, Helen, of St. Louis, Mo. six nephews two nieces and special friend, Joan Mosher, of Rolla, Mo. Visitation will be Friday evening, Feb. 17, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall in Salem. Masonic Service will be at 7 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the United Methodist Church, Hwy 32 East in Salem on Saturday, February 18, at 1 p.m. Military honors and interment will follow immediately at the Cedar Grove Cemetery. All arrangements are under the direction of the Dent County Memorial Chapel.
