Gilbert Stevens

Gilbert Carlisle Stevens passed away August 22, 2017 in Rogersville, MO.

He was born to Charles C. and Nellie (Cawthra) Stevens on August 26, 1927 in Seymour, MO.

He served in the Navy at 17 in World War II in the South Pacific aboard Carrier U.S.S. Sargent Bay and did the Victory Tour of the U.S.S. Missouri. He spent thirty years in business for the International Harvester Co. in Midmanagement of the Parts Division, traveling out of Kansas City and Chicago. He married his school sweetheart, Betty (House) Stevens on April 14, 1949.

He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Laura Stevens, Ruth (Stevens) Sipes, James Stevens, and Russell and John Wesley.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, Jim of Florida and Barry of Texas, and one niece, Carol Ann Stevens of Tulsa, OK.

Cremation is under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Services will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Care To Learn, 411 N Sherman Pkwy, Springfield, MO 65802.
