Harold Divine Obituary

Harold " Cochise" Gene Divine passed May 29, 2009, at the age of 82. Harold was born February 17, 1927, in Arcadia, Neb. One of four children of Kathryn and Vern Divine. He married Loretta Ware on October 19, 1952 in Alliance, Neb. He is survived by his wife of 56 years; sons, Scott of Springfield, Steven and wife Cassie, of Nixa; and daughter, Stacy and husband Michael Naughton, of San Antonio, Texas; three grandsons, Eric, Adam and Jake Naughton; three nephews Kevin, Tim and Billy Divine of Neb,; and a niece, Shari and husband Dennis Tucker. Also surviving, a dear friend of 40 years, Pat Nine of Springfield. Harold was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William; and sisters, Iona Hale and Modena Miller. He was a musician at an early age and worked with many bands as a percussionist. In the 1960's, he went to work as an International Representative for the American Federation of Musicians of New York City. He traveled extensively. He operated a Bloodhound Tracking service in Rapid City, South Dakota, and after retiring from the Federation in 1985, he had a custom leather business. Harold was a life member of Musicians Local 257, Nashville, Tenn., and was an Honorable Kentucky Colonel. Graveside services will be at Greenlawn North at 10 a.m., Wednesday June 3, under the direction of Greenlawn. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Indian Relief Council, PO Box 6200, Rapid City, South Dakota 57709.
