Louie Bauer Obituary

Louie John Bauer, age 71, Springfield, Mo. passed away April 27, 2010 in his home. Louie was born May 11, 1938 in Springfield, Mo. The son of Louie Paul Bauer and Myrtle Irene (Courtois) Bauer. Louie spent 41 years in the waste industry, starting his long career with Missouri Waste Disposal in 1964, Springfield City Refuse, and retiring with the Waste Corporation in 2005. He served his country in the United States Army, Co. D 3rd Engineers Battalion. Louie enjoyed genealogy, hunting, and spending time with his grandsons. Louie married the love of his life, Connie Lea Stroud. To this union they had one son, John Wesley Bauer. Survivors include his wife, Connie, of 47 years; son, Wes Bauer and wife Diana Bauer; grandsons, Justin Bauer and Jonathon Bauer all of Springfield; one sister, Margaret Ann Taylor, of Republic, Mo; two brothers, Robert Russell and James Russell of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday April 30, 2010 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut St. Graveside services will be at 12:00 p.m. Saturday May 1, 2010 in Eastlawn Cemetery with Msgr. Thomas Reidy officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Boys and Girls Town of Missouri or Big Brother and Big Sisters of the Ozarks. Online condolences can be shared at www. hhlohmeyer.com.
