Marcus Quinton Ferguson

Marcus Quinton Ferguson, age 27, of Springfield, Mo., passed away on Saturday morning, June 3, 2017.

He was born November 28, 1989 in Springfield, Mo., the son of Mark Randal Ferguson and Roberta Louise Brixey.

Marcus went to Kickapoo High School then to Ozark High School going on to attend Maplewood Community College in Kansas City, Mo.

He was a self-employed house painter which he enjoyed immensely. Marcus was dedicated to his Lord, Jesus Christ and as a child attended Rolling Hills Baptist Church. As a young adult he attended Broadway Baptist Church and recently was active at Crossway Baptist Church. He loved people and was always eager to lend a hand to anyone in need. He was not shy to share the word of his Lord with everyone. Marcus loved his music and was very talented, teaching himself guitar and piano. He also was a fantastic cook and enjoyed lots of recipes, cooking for his family was a real treat.

Marcus is survived by his father and step-mother, Mark and Cyndi Ferguson of Springfield; his mother, Roberta L. Brixey-Ferguson of Springfield; his two sisters, Sayward Ferguson and Lisa Ferguson both of Springfield, Mo.; his aunts and uncles, Shawn and Sarah Brixey of Canada, Serena F. Bussell of Iowa, La., Marsha L. North of Iowa, La., Tom and Patricia Ferguson of Galloway, Mo., Garinel Bacon of Springfield, Mo., and Lisa and Tom Rook of Springfield, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Alan M. and Mary Lou Brixey; his paternal grandparents, Hargrave and Betty Ferguson; and his uncle, Richard North.

Funeral services will be privately held with burial at Rivermonte Memorial Park in Springfield, Mo. with Rev. Tom Maples and Rev. John Crane officiating.
