Michael Wilson Obituary

Michael David Wilson

Michael David Wilson was born in Alameda County, Calif., on May 16, 1965, and passed away in his sleep in his Springfield, Mo., home on March 18, 2017. His parents were John and Linda Wilson of Sun City, Ariz. Until age 13, he lived in the San Francisco Bay area, where he developed a lifelong love for the SF Giants from going to games at the old Candlestick Park with his dad. He attended Buffalo Grove High School in Buffalo Grove, Ill. Attempts at further education were interrupted by serious health issues. He was married to Susie Ohlson on Nov. 24, 1998.

Michael was an avid reader, a lover of music, an amazing cook, an extreme softie to a lifetime of pets, and beloved and valued by everyone he worked with. He was passionate about nearly every sport, participating whenever possible. He was a talented bowler and the assistant team trainer for the Buffalo Grove High School football team. He played on the recreational league because his health prevented him from playing Little League. He enjoyed fantasy football with his many friends. He had many difficulties throughout his life, but always faced them with grace, humor and probably a remark that was likely to make you groan. Quick-witted and funny, his ability to look at the bright side of life made everyone around him a better person. As his last caring act, his body was donated to medical science, with the hope of helping others in the future.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Martin and Rae Ramras of the Bronx, N.Y., and John and Jewell Wilson of Tulsa, and his aunts Sarah Harris of Tulsa and Gail Crasno of New Jersey.

He is survived by his loving wife, Susie; his parents; aunts and uncles Julie and Paul Wood of Tulsa, Rebecca Wilson-Loots and Scott Loots of San Francisco, James Wilson and Laurie Nichols of Sulphur, Okla., and Steve Ramras and Judy Seybold of Fort Collins, Colo.; and cousins Kerrie Sanders of Rochester, N.Y., Matt Wood of Tulsa, Nicole Taylor of Seattle, Wash., Aaron and Amy Ramras, of Fort Collins.

The family requests no flowers. Donations in his memory may be made to http://www.crohnscolitisfoundation.org. A celebration of his life will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 2, at Phelps Grove Park.

My dear nephew MD. We had such fun together, either bowling the afternoon away, or dancing in his room. Our shared love of the SF Giants was a joy to us both. The memories bring me happiness.
