Neoma Durr-Thompson Obituary

Neoma Christine Durr-Thompson

Neoma Christine Durr-Thompson, one of ten children, was born on Easter Sunday, April 18, 1943. She went to be with the Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 19, 2014, at age 70. She was surrounded by many who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Velma; her father, Van; and two brothers, Cecil and Timmy.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas; three brothers and four sisters: Ronald, Allen, Bob, Marjorie Carleton, Juanita Cheek, Rosalene Martin, Patricia Pojar-Durr; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She survived Polio at age eight and her love for Jesus sustained her through 62 years in a wheelchair.

She graduated from Willard High School and went on to graduate from University of Missouri. She worked as a System Analyst for McDonald Douglas and Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Her kind, loving and generous spirit was felt by all.

She will be greatly missed but her love will continue with us.

Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. with services at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2014 in Greenlawn Funeral Home East with interment in Hazelwood Cemetery.

I always remember Aunt Christine's cheerful disposition. She was friendly to everybody, and a role model to all. She will be missed, but I look forward to seeing her again, this time without a wheelchair. Goodbye for now! Love you, Don & Judith.
