Patrick Garcia Obituary

Patrick Garcia

Patrick Anthony Garcia, the son of Anthony and Marian Garcia, was born on May 18, 1987 in Long Beach, California. He went home to be with the Lord on January 18, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri with his mother and father by his side. Patrick's death was the result of injuries sustained in a vehicle accident.

Patrick attended New Covenant Academy Christian Schools of Springfield and graduated from Glendale High School in 2006. He was enrolled in the welding program at Ozarks Technical College and was employed as a parts delivery driver for Auto Zone.

Patrick had a big heart and a big smile - he was an encourager to his family and friends. His friends say he was always there to listen to them. He loved hanging out with his friends, going to movies, buying and selling older cars, hunting for deer and turkey and eating out - especially sushi. Patrick's passing will leave a large void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. We will miss him every day of our lives.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Isobel Kilpatrick, his paternal grandmother, Stella Garcia Levy and his uncle, Gary Kilpatrick.

He is survived by his son, Anthony Patrick Garcia of Webb City, Mo, his father and mother, Anthony and Marian Garcia, two sisters: Debbie and husband Randy Clarkson, Tammy and husband Chris Eyrich, two brothers, Tony and wife Lauri Garcia, Brian and wife Ema Garcia and uncle, Bruce Kilpatrick. He is also survived by nephews and nieces - Myke, Jason, Robert, A. J., Becky, Rachel, Logan, Kayla, Joey and Dane.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brain Injury Association of America (biausa.org) to assist survivors of traumatic brain injury.

Funeral services will be held at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 23 at 1 p.m.. Burial will be at Rivermonte Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 22 from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences can be made at gormanscharpf.com

Special thanks is given to all the doctors, nurses and other staff at Mercy Hospital who provided Patrick with such loving care. The family also wants to thank all the friends of Patrick who prayed for us, hugged us, and surrounded us with their love. We are also so thankful for all of our friends and church family who prayed for us continually.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences for the loss of your son Patrick. He was a friend of my son Joel and had visited our home on occasion, always pleasant, engaging, and gracious, a pleasure to be around. He will be loved and missed by many. May God's healing grace be yours in the days to follow.

Patrick was a wonderful co-worker and brought much joy and laughter to AutoZone. He is missed indeed. Please know that God is present with you at all times. He is standing right next to you and holding your hand even on days when he seems to be just an illusion. May peace and strength be with you all.

So sorry for the loss of your son. There are no words that can express what you are going through. Just know you have the love and support of your family and he will live on in his child.

Patrick was a wonderful young man. He was a great friend to two of my children, Austen Cherry and Jacob Cherry. He's been in our lives since he was 12. Even after we moved to Tennessee, we remained close to him. Heaven is brighter with Patrick as an angel. To his wonderful family, our thoughts and prayers are with you. You raised a special man who touched so many lives in such a positive way. Patrick, you will always be one of my kids, and we will love and miss you forever.

I did not Patrick personally but I work with Kyrstin and I have heard about him through mutual friends. I am very very sorry for your loss. He sounds like he was a wonderful person and I am sure God has a much bigger and better plan for him. May God be with all of you today and always. With deepest sympathy
