Patsy Lois Matthews

Patsy Lois Matthews, 85, Willard, passed away, Wednesday, November 27, 2013, with her family at her bedside. She was a resident of Quail Creek in Springfield for almost two years. She had lived in Willard for 38 years.

She was born in Elijah, Missouri and graduated from Bakersfield High School in 1946. She held various jobs, retiring twice, once from Zenith in 1981, to care for her sick husband and again in 2007 from Murfins Mkt in Willard. She was the front office manager for 18 years, working to age 80.

She was a member of the Jackson St. Church of Christ but her heath prevented her from attending services.

Pat was privileged to share 40 years of marriage with her husband Troy. He passed away in 1989.

She is survived by her loving family, three Daughters: Ginger White, Willard, Cheryl Byrd, Ft. Smith, Arkansas, and Mary Young, Springfield; Son: Albert of Nixa; one Sister, Vivian Williams, West Plains, Mo. and Brother, Billie Hensley of Michigan. She was a proud Grandma to Marti Davis, Matt White, Jason Stewart, Cam Stewart, Troy Young, Nicole Young, Brian Byrd, Dustin Byrd, Ben and Sam Matthews. There are also seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 1, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Wilson - Brim - Daniel Chapel in Ash Grove with Funeral Services on Monday, December 2, 2013 at 10 a.m. also in the chapel. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Willard.

Memorial contributions may be made to Fair Haven Children's Home, Strafford, Mo.
