Randall Laster Obituary

Randall Dee Laster, 75, Sikeston, Mo., was born August 27, 1931, in Lake County, Ky., the son of Winford Wesley and Hazel Lee (Adams) Laster. Randall passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2007, in Missouri Delta Medical Center from a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma. At an early age, he and his family moved to Charleston. He served his country during the Korean War as a Corporal in the Marine Corps. On December 27, 1952, Randall married the love of his life, Reba Virginia Smith. They raised their two sons, Greg and Winnie, in Bertrand until moving to Springfield in 1978. Randall worked over 50 years as a drywaller. After his retirement, he and Reba moved to Sikeston in 1995. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and gardening and was a devoted St. Louis Cardinals fan. Randall is survived by the family he adored, his wife of 54 years, Reba, of the home; two sons and their wives, Gregory D. and Nancy Laster; and Winford R. and Angela Laster; his brother, Al Cope and wife, Clara; his sister, Eula Limbaugh; three grandchildren who were the joy of his life, Emily, Dalton and Hailey; his faithful companion, his dog, Abby; and many other loving family and friends. Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2007, in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Charleston, Mo., with the Reverend Vernon Henson officiating under the care of Randall's son, Winford of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, Springfield.
