Richard Tatum Obituary

Richard W. Tatum, Sr., 72, of Springfield, Mo., went to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 24, 2005, in his home. He was born on Nov. 25, 1932, in Granite City, Ill., then moved to the area as an infant. He graduated from Senior High School (Central) in 1950. He was united in marriage to Beverly Ash on April 14, 1955. He retired in 1980 from City Utilities Transportation Dept. He is survived by his wife, Beverly four children, Rick Jr. and wife, Sharon Mitzi Jones and husband, Verle Tammy Brazeal and husband, Ron and Lisa Hall and husband, Rick 13 grandchildren, Jason, Jessie and Ricky Tatum Philip Frieze and Will Jones Tiffany King, Brent McKeon, Sully and Roman Brazeal Dakota, Jacob and Grace Hall two granddaughters-in-law, Shannon and Jamie eight step-grandchildren one great-granddaughter, Shaelee King 14 stepgreat-grandchildren motherin-law, Willie Ash one brother, Rev. Eural and wife, Pauline Tatum four sisters, Helen and husband, Ralph Ramsey, Lari Portnoff, Katy Presley, and Sarah Dameron sister-in-law, Bonnie and husband, Harvey Bearden and many more nieces, nephews, family and friends one very special walking buddy, Carl Ash and his spoiled dog, Skye. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Grace (Ferguson) Tatum father-inlaw, Floyd Ash one brother, Bob Tatum and two brothers-in-law, Roy Presley and Charlie Dameron. Visitation is from 4t o6 p.m. tonight, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Graveside services will be held Friday, Oct. 28, at 1 p.m. in Greenlawn Cemetery with Pastor Jess Gibson officiating. He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
