There can be no other like you Sherman. What you added to your patients'
care and comfort went beyond anything anyone will ever learn in dental school.
My heart remains so full of gratitude and affection. Gale

Can't believe it's been a year since Dr. Mitchell passed. I'll always think of him at his office cheerfully greeting and tending to the needs of his patients...always caring about their comfort and explaining carefully the care he determined was needed. He was "one in a million" (or maybe "several millions?").

Today, my wife and I were plunged into sadness when we received correspondence of the passing of Dr. Sherman Mitchell. Marie and I had looked for a knowledgeable and caring dentist. We were referred to Sherman by Dr. David Stair, Director of Athletics at Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri. That was decades ago. After going to Dr. Mitchell, we never even dreamed of going elsewhere. With Peggy pointing us to Dr. Josh Montgomery while also announcing that Marsha will be staying in the practice, we look forward to the same bond. Our hearts are heavy for Peggy, Amber, and the rest of the Mitchell family.

Just heard today of the passing of Dr. Mitchell. He was one of a kind, and I had the privilege of being one of his patients for 29 years. A genuine man who really cared about his patients and not just from a business perspective.
Always a kind word and an interest in what was going on in his patient's life.
He will be missed, but the Lord's plans and ways are far above ours.
Our sympathies to his family and staff.

Just found out today and it is terribly sad news. He had been my dentist since I was in the 5th grade and that was decades ago. Always so nice, made going to the dentist a non-scary event.

Dr. Mitchell was a treasure. He was our family dentist for approximately 40 years and we loved him. The gentlest man both in treatment and manor. He is remembered fondly and can never be replaced. Our sincere condolences.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Dr. Mitchell's passing. I was a patient of his and found him to be so caring and compassionate. His technique was easy and precise....a great dentist. Springfield lost a good one!!! My sincere condolences to the family at time.

Dr. Mitchell was my dentist for 30+ years and was truly the kindest, most gentle doctor I've ever known. I remember the time I carelessly lost a partial plate he had made for me. I later found it; it was bent and in bad shape. He was amused at my explanation and said he could fix it. He fixed it and didn't even charge me for it! Between drillings on my teeth, he would always stop periodically to check that I was okay because he cared about the comfort of his patients. He will be missed greatly.

I can't begin to imagine how I will get to the end of
my life without Dr. Mitchell's care. He has been my so truly appreciated dentist for more years that I can count. We were both 40 years younger when we met and he had an office on Commercial Street. We grieved
Susan Anderson's passing together. My sincere sympathy to Peggy, whose handmade quilt kept me cozy at every dental appointment. I am so going to miss my dentist, but I realize that he was truly my
very excellent friend.
