Steve Branstetter Obituary

Steve Branstetter

Steven Wayne Branstetter, age 66, of Branson, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015, in his home. He was born August 1, 1948, in Hartville, MO, the son of Harry and Osa (Tester) Branstetter. He graduated from Strafford High School, and received a Bachelor's Degree from Missouri State University. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

Steve currently owned Sweetwater Inn and Café in Branson. He had previously owned several restaurants including Bumsteads in Nixa, Ozark, and Branson, and the original Steve's Sweetwater Inns in Springfield. He also had worked at Roadway as a dispatch supervisor for 20 years. He loved boating and being on the lake. Steve also enjoyed riding and trading motorcycles and cars.

Survivors include: Two children, Heather Nicole Holland and husband Josh of Billings, and Stephen Wayne Branstetter II of Ozark, and fiancé Amanda Maas; three grandchildren, Landon Coday Holland, Harper Ann Holland, and Hudson Michael Holland; the mother of his children, Joyce Branstetter of Ozark; three siblings and their spouses, Charles Robert Branstetter and Wilma of Fair Play, Wilma Dale Bagwell and Mark of Bentonville, AR, and James William Branstetter and Brenda of Bella Vista, AR; nieces and nephews; other relatives; and many friends,

His parents and an infant sister, Brenda Joyce, preceded him in death.

A memorial service including military honors will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 21, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday in the funeral home.

Memorials in Steve's name may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri.

Steve was our "Condo Neighbor". He and I would visit while standing on our respective decks. We shared the same birth year and political views. It will seem strange not seeing him when we travel there again. God's blessings and comfort to his family during this time of loss.

Sorry for your loss. I knew Steve in college...he was a great guy. After he went into the Military, we lost track of each other. Life sure seems to fly by, but Pam and I never forgot Steve and his friendship.
