After retirement she went to work TJ Maxx in 1990 when the Springfield store opened and was employed there until her death. She deeply cherished her TJ Maxx friends and customers. She was devoted to genealogy research and was a member of the Ozarks Genealogy Society, Daughters of Union Veterans, Civil War Roundtable and volunteered at Wilson's Creek National Battlefield. She was preceded in death by her father, son-in-law Eugene "Gene" Wood, nephew Seamus Mulvihill and Godmother Estella Fritz. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, William; her mother, Nola Getty Zapart; three children, Tammy (Tom) Mast of Springfield, Eric (Diana) Roush of Springfield and Karen Wood of Rogersville; six grandchildren, Jacoby Mast, Hayleigh Carter, Clayton Carter, Skylar Wood, Kita Wood and Nikki Wood; a sister Alnita Merylene (Tom) Mulvihill; a niece Kalysta Rogers; and a host of extended family and friends. Toni; I can't believe you're gone. Since week one at TJ MAXX -- you in the dressing room and me hauling around two pre-schoolers -- we've shared our family stories, our hobbies, our love of antiques, hugs, laughs and smiles. You may be the most genuine person I know. You were always a comfort for me, just by being there. Your spirit will always be near when tough times loom. I will selfishly not let you go.

I am so sorry. Toni was a sweet lady.
She helped me with my genealogy and was my 4th cousin.

Toni was a very sweet lady. She would always ask about my son Mark a classmate of Tammy's. She was in my prayers.
