Dear Ricky.
Our condolences and prayers are with you Christine, Stella, Andrea, Scott and your familes. We were saddened to learn of his passing, but happpy to know he is in a better place with your Mom.
He was a fighter and never gave up, even before his illeness. I was happy, to see him at your house recently and see a smile on his face even after leaving his home in New Mexico and the recent death of your MOM. I grew up with your DAD and new him as Sony Boy and Sonny. In heaven after spending time with your Mom, Uncle Lenny, your grandmother and granfather, I would not be surprized to here your father was playing in the big poka card game with others in our family.
Yours Truly and Sicerely
Cousin Richie & Lynn Sardiello

Dearest Uncle Sonny,

Although we have been miles apart physically, you were never far from my heart and thoughts. I have the best memories of your bigger than life personality, smile and laughter. Whenever I think back on my fondest childhood memories, you are right there, front and center. I will miss you deeply, but I am comforted knowing that you are with Aunt Sydell and the rest of "the gang". Till we meet again......With All Our Love, XOXOXOXO

To My Dearest Uncle Sonny,

I love you so very much and I promise you that there is no one like you and no one can ever take your place! You are geniune, loving, real, wise, honest and above all things someone who loved and lived for his family.

Uncle Sonny, thank you for being so wonderful to me and my family. I will always treasure your visits to stay with Dad in my home. How we loved when the Brooklyn Cowboy came to visit! I have so many wonderful memories of my Uncle Sonny and Aunt Sydell, (Remember, I thought I belonged with you both and Aunt Sydell had to ask my permission about being pregnant with Ricky!) How can we forget all the memories of being together at Grandma and Grandpa's house. We truly loved being together. And now you are all together again and though my heart breaks I cannot help but rejoice at the celebration you are having in heaven!

We had the most wonderful visit in Florida this summer and I am forever grateful that Bob and I and our children got to experience that magical evening in Ricky's home, around the table where you held court telling stories, playing cards and smoking hooka!!!! I am smiling now just thinking about it.

Thank you Uncle Sonny for being such a wonderful uncle to all of us. Thank you even more for being such a wonderful brother to my beloved dad. Daddy loved you more than you can imagine and one of his last words was to "Tell my brother I love him". You were so loving and attentive to each other and you and dad taught us about unconditional love.

On behalf of my husband Bob, my daughter Diona, and my son Robert, we would like to say we will forever love you. Go to the light Uncle Sonny....until we meet again.

Love,

Your niece Stella
