Albert Duerr Obituary


Obituary

Albert J. Duerr, age 83, died on July 22. He was born on 6/14/17, in Newark, NJ and has been a FL resident of 36 years. Al served in the U.S. Army for 13 years and during WWII, he proudly served with Gen. Patton's 3rd Army in Europe during the Battle of the Bulge. He received the Amry Commendation Ribbon for his outstanding work with U.S. Army Special Services in the Panama Canal Zone. Al retired from Dell-Doubleday Publishing Co. after 28 years. A Kentucky Colonel, member of the V.F.W. and a former Elk.

Al is survived by his wife Mary, a son Dan of Odessa, FL, daughter Hollis Castner of Clearwater; two grandchildren, Scott and Janet and two sisters, Frances Scharer and Isabelle Vescio.

Memorial service to be held at Memorial Funeral Home, 3453 Hancock Bridge Pkwy, North Fort Myers at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 29.
