Mom (Trudy)
When you took your marriage vows "For sickness and in health" you meant it. In all my years of nursing I have never met two individuals so determined to fight this illness. You and Carl have always been a team. Carl with his positive attitude no matter if he just fell done and was all bloody. His reaction "I am just fine" and you always right there making sure he had everything he needed.

Carl may be gone but he left me and Dennis with endless memories, being a great step father,father-in-law, grandpa, and teacher.

Carl will always be in our hearts and his memories and inspirations and teachings will always be part of our daily lives.

Mom we love you and we will always be there for you.

Though our contact with Carl and his wife Trudy has been relatively short, our time of fellowship was spent mainly on Saturday evenings during and after services. Carl was always an inspiration. You could not tell how he was feeling since his response was always a wonderful smile and a kind word. There will always be an emptiness at this hour.
Condolences to Trudy and family.

Sunday afternoon at 4 P.M. was "The Bridge Game Of The Week"--- Bill and Mary Jo vs. Carl and Trudy! The outcome seldom varied, the Allens left the table vowing to do better next week, and next week, and next week. We all had a wonderful time playing our own brand of Bridge. Fortunately, a delicious dinner on which Mary Jo and Trudy collaborated soothed the competitive beast in each of us. No matter how poorly Carl may have felt earlier in the day, come 4 o'clock on Sunday afternoon, he gathered his strength and played a great hand of Bridge. We will always remember that when Trudy said something he did not agree with, he never said anything, just raised his eyebrows and she got the message. Mashed potatoes and gravy were his choice vegetable and spinach a definite "no". 3 No Trump or any dessert were high on his list of favorites. Gentle and pleasant, with a mind of his own, Carl Deremo was a wonderful friend to the Allens and we will always remember him fondly.

Dear Trudy
My heart just breaks for you. You and Carl were such an important part of the Flint family. Your kindness to my parents and your warm and welcoming spirit to all the kids, made our lives richer. My wonderful memories of Carl, like tossing beer over the balcony into the pool for us on Sanibel (should I say that?) will always make me smile and I look forward to making many more with you in the coming years.
All my love to you and the entire Deremo family.

I will always remember Carl as a most remarkable man; very sweet and posessing a tremenedous positive approach to life. Somehow one always came away from an encounter with Carl feeling better about life and oneself. He had a unique ability to sense when someone needed a little help or encouragement. There are very few people you encounter in this world who truly made a difference to those who knew them and Carl was certainly among them.

You were friends confidants and business partners as well..a complete package.I learned a lot from Carl when you both decided to become a part of JNA,not the least of which was"never reduce the commission","it's 7%". A long and rich life found its end. Memories will no replace the daily experiences. Loving memories will grow and gratefulness for so many happy and exciting years together will hopefully still the sorrow and sadness about the loss of our Carlos.
May he rest in peace and may he continue to live in our minds and hearts as the loving and always helpful and caring husband, father, grandpa, uncle and friend, who he was to all of us.
We thank HIM, our GOD, that he allowed us to travel together these years with such a loving man on this wonderful earth.

Trudy,

I know you know how much you and Carl mean to me and how much I will miss him.

Carl was such a kind and genuine person. His positive attitude toward life was contagious. You could not be in bad mood when you were with Carl.

Even as his illness progessed he still mantained his sense of humor and adventure. I am so happy you were able to take your world cruise. I know how much he looked forward to it and it will be a precious memory for you.

Please know that my thoughta and prayers are with you and that Carl has a very special place in heaven (I think he and Jack are up there together talking real estate!)

Much Love,

We have known our dear friend Carl for more than twenty years, and we have enjoyed each of them greatly. Carl was not only one of our best American friends, he also taught us many worthful things in Real Estate, and we worked wonderfully and most successful together as business partners.

After his retirement, we often visited socially, and mutually enjoyed our times with Carl and Trudy so much!

We miss you, Carl!

Carl was a wonderful role model to look up to when i first entered the sanibel real estate scene - he was so helpful to the "new kid on the block" and remained that way throughout his career. He will be missed by everyone who worked with him and who came to know him well.

Carl was a great neighbor, always cheerful, smiling, and welcoming. We will always remember fondly the day before Wilma, spent with Carl and Trudy and the party atmosphere at their place in the face of an approaching hurricane. Carl especially loved Diana's cooking and she in turn loved to cook for him. (David would usually make the deliveries.) Carl seemed to genuinely love life and all who were part of his life, especially his wife, Trudy. They were very devoted to and forgiving of each other. Neither Trudy or Carl harbored grudges or held onto anger. Carl's humor could lighten almost any situation. We have gained from being their friends. We will miss Carl greatly.
