George Leny Obituary
Obituary
George E. Leny, 63, of Fort Myers, died suddenly on Tuesday, November 17, 1998. He had been a resident of the Fort Myers area since 1979 coming from Toledo, Ohio.
Mr. Leny was a member of the Fort Myers Beach Moose Lodge and the Elks Club of Toledo, Ohio. He also sailed the Great Lakes as a member of the Merchant Marine. He, with his wife June, owned and operated Howard's Carryout in Maumee, Ohio, for 13 years, LeNi Beach Liquors in Fort Myers Beach for 8 years, and currently DJ's Smokehouse Saloon in Fort Myers.
He is survived by his wife June; two daughters: Kathy Hoffman of Cape Coral and Patricia Campbell of Fort Lauderdale; a son, Kevin Leny of Fort Myers; six grandchildren: Heather Wymer, CJ Hoffmann, Thomas Campbell, Sarah Leny, James Campbell and Bridgette Campbell; two sisters: Mary Ann Thorell and Nancy Johnson; and five brothers: Robert, John, David, Arnold and Norman Leny.
A Memorial Mass will be conducted on Saturday, November 21, 1998, at 10 a.m. at St. Ceceila's Church, 5632 Sunrise Dr., Fort Myers.
A reception with George's family will be held following the service at DJs Smokehouse Saloon, 2022 Canal St.
The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the American Cancer Society, 4575 Via Royale Suite 209, Fort Myers, FL 33919.
