James Tous

Jim passed away peacefully under the care of hospice on September 19th due to colon cancer. Jim was born in Cleveland, Ohio to parents, James and Agnes Tous. He was 89 years old. Jim graduated from Parma Schaff High School and Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, Ohio. He served in the Army Air Force WW II. After college, he started his career with Merrill, Lynch, Pierce, Fenner, and Beane. He was recruited by GM for the Cadillac tank plant in Berea, OH, until it closed. At that time, he was transferred to the Terex division GM in Hudson, OH until he retired in 1978. Jim was active in the Hudson Lions Club and the Hudson Little Theater Group working behind stage. Jim and Lois were married in January 1951. They moved to Fort Myers in June of 1978. He enjoyed golf, fishing, following the stock market, watching football and living in paradise. He leaves to mourn him, his loving wife Lois of 64 1/2 years, his children; William Tous, Barbara Tous (Michael McLeod), James J. Tous (Lena), Susan Ritchie (Joe Cimato), Duff Tous (Michelle), grandchildren; Deanna (Matt) Winkleblack, Lisa (Lars) Holien, Matthew, Carina, Sven, Hailey, David, Elizabeth, Jeremy and Danielle, great grandchildren; Brooke, Courtney, Emily, and Madison. Also to be remembered; Becky Tous and Bill Messenheimer for their help and caring. Jim will be remembered for his love of family, sense of humor, love of animals and friendliness. Memorials may be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 Health Park Circle, Ft. Myers, FL 33908 or Gulf Coast Humane Society, 2010 Arcadia St., Ft. Myers, FL 33916.
