Martha Callari Obituary

Martha Lee (Love) Callari

April 26, 2013

Martha Lee Callari, loving Wife, Sister, Aunt, and Friend passed from this life with her husband at her side on April 26th, 2013.

She was preceded in death by her parents LeRoy Edwin and Floriece C. Love.

She is survived by husband Stephen Callari, their children Stephen M. Callari, Scott Callari, Jennifer Gosling (Sean), and her brother Robert Sidney Love, her sister Judith Maly (Kurt), her brother William H. Love (Victoria), grandchildren, Megan, Eric, Ashley, Christopher, Andrew, Cayleigh, Jeremiah and Robert, her nephews Robert, John (Kim), Bruce (Tennessee), Tony, and Edwin, and her nieces Leigh (Chris) and Sara. She was also blessed with (10) beautiful grand nephews and nieces: Madison, Ethan, Charlotte, Sidney, Herman, August, Gabriel, Grace, and John.

Martha attended Dekalb College, in Decatur, GA where she achieved a Bachelor of Science with a Major in Nursing 1977. Soon thereafter, she moved to Ft. Myers, where she had a distinguished career in health care. She was employed as a critical care nurse at several hospitals in the area where she impacted countless lives and met Steve the love of her life. She and Steve were married in 1984. Together, they traveled extensively to many corners of the world. She celebrated life with abundance and independence with her family and friends.

She lived much of her life in a piece of paradise on the Orange River with Steve, and near her beloved mother, Floriece. She and Steve helped transform a piece of wilderness into a paradise and home for the family. She was blessed with an uncommonly sharp wit and memorable voice. Her eyes danced with humor and laughter, and she was just warm to be around. We did not expect to lose her this soon. Her cackling laughter and presence of life will be missed by all that knew her. There is no doubt that her mother Floriece is embracing her in Heaven at this moment, chastising her for being there too soon. Her body is healed; her spirit lives; we will miss her greatly; she uniquely lit every room she entered. Let Heaven be a little more bright, today.

The family will honor her and celebrate her life with a memorial service at the Callari residence at 3900 Ellis Road on the beautiful Orange River on Saturday, May 4th at 3:00 PM. Interment of her ashes shall follow in the wilderness of the property she and the family loved.
