Mary Huether Memoriam

Mary A. Huether, 82, of Fort Myers, died Sunday, September 17, 2006 at the home of her daughter Mary Ellen in Orwigsburg, PA. She was born Sept. 12, 1924 in New Philadelphia, PA to the late George and Mary (Gregitis) Bagdonis. She worked as a secretary for the federal government in Philadelphia, Washington, DC and New York City. Mary was a 1942 graduate of Blythe Township High School and a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven, PA and Church of the Resurrection, Fort Myers. She was a member of the Landings Golf Club, and volunteered at Lee Memorial Hospital, Fort Myers, and Patty Berg Golf Tournament as well as other senior golf tournaments in Fort Myers.

Survivors include her sons Charles and John Huether of Fort Myers, daughters; JoAnn Huether, Mary Ellen Turick of Orwigsburg, PA, Nancy Huether of Fort Myers, and sister Eva Stanus of Port Carbon, PA and 16 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death her husband, brother George Bagdonis, sisters, Anna Braukus, Helen Bagdonis and Catherine Bagdonis.

Visitation will be Wednesday, 6-8 PM at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church and Thursday 9-10 AM at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home, Inc., 25 East Main St., Schuylkill Haven with Recitation of the Rosary at 9:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven, PA at 8 PM on Wednesday, Sept. 20. Interment will follow at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Make-A-Wish Foundation, 101 North Centre St., Pottsville, PA 17901 or Schuylkill Women in Crisis, PO Box 96, Pottsville, PA 17901.
