Phyllis Balch Obituary


Obituary

Phyllis A. Balch, Author, C.N.C., and business woman, passed away December 31, 2004 in Cape Coral, FL. She was the daughter of Rev. Edwin and Ruby B. Henning, who have preceded her in death. Mrs. Balch was born in Logansport, IN and formerly lived in Indianapolis, and Greefield, IN. She had resided in the Ft. Myers, FL area for the last seven years.

Mrs. Balch was an internationally known author of: Prescription for Nutritional Healing, Prescription for Dietary Wellness, Prescription for Herbal Healing and A-to-Z Guide to Supplements. Phyllis was a Health Consultant for WAKUNAGA of America.

Mrs. Balch owned Good Things Naturally Health and Nurtitional Center for 25 years in Greenfield, IN. She also owned and operated Shannon's Roaring Twenties for many years in Indianapolis, IN.

Phyllis was an animal activist, rescuing many abandoned animals and nursing them back to health. She was passionate about birds.

Visitation will be Friday, January 7, 2005 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with funeral services to be held Saturday, January 8, 2005 at 10:00 AM at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN. Rev. Edwin Henning, pastor of McKee Lake Community Church, Pinellas, FL will be officiating. Entombment will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood, IN.

Mrs. Balch is survived by her daughters, Ruby Hines and Cheryl Keene; son, Donald Calkines; brother, Al Henning; grandchildren Lisa Hines, Ryan and Rachel Morehead; two great-grandchildren; Alexis Foster and Ryan Morehead, Jr. She is also survived by half brothers, Rev. Edwin "Sonny" Henning, Tim Henning; and half sister Nina Greggs.

Memorial contributions can be made to American Cancer Society or HSUS (Humane Society of United States).
