Richard Krieg Obituary

Obituary

Richard A. Krieg, 52, of Pine Island, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 28, 2009. He was born Dec. 5, 1956, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Mark K. Sr., and Roberta G. Krieg. He lived in the Carolinas in the 1970s, attending Ft. Mill High School and the College of Charleston. He has loved living on Pine Island since 1979, and he and his father opened Pine Island Realty soon after moving there.

Richard's calling was to be a "take charge, I'll help you solve your problems" real estate broker, to which anyone who had the good fortune of working with him would attest. His first love was his wife of 30 years, Debbie, his son and two daughters.

Richard was predeceased by his mother, Roberta G. Krieg. He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah J. Krieg, son Bradford A. Krieg, daughters Joanna C. and Kati (Katherine) E. Krieg, father Mark K. Krieg, Sr., brothers Mark K. Krieg, Jr.(Sharon) and Steven L. Krieg (Reagan), uncles, cousins, and grateful nephews and nieces.

A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate Richard's life and his remarkable gift of service to others at 2:00 p.m. this Friday, April 3, 2009 at Pine Island United Methodist Church, 5701 Pine Island Rd NW, at Pine Island Center. Arrangements by Kiser Funeral Home.

Debbie,
I was thinking about Richard this morning and just read the news. Even though I haven't talked to you two in a long time, the memories of college are still fresh. I really had some wonderful times with you two. My heart goes out to you and your family and be assured as you well know , Richard will always be a "Great Guy".

I hadn't talked to Richard for quite awhile...I thought there'd be plenty of time to catch up in the future...I regret that now. Richard always treated me very well and I certainly appreciated that. He was a friend to me at a point in my life when I really needed friends. He always impressed me with how he treated people and tried to do the right thing. He was a pleasure to talk to and to spend time with. He was one of the good guys and he will be sorely missed. My condolences to all of Richard's family and friends.
