RICHARD WILHOIT Obituary
Obituary
Richard (Dick) O. Wilhoit, of Fort Myers and Sanibel, FL and Hopkins, MN died April 8, 2010 in Fort Myers after a short illness. He was born August 8, 1913. He graduated from Shattuck School, Faribault, MN and attended the Univ. of MN.
His wife, Peg, of 72 years, survives him. Five children, 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren also survive him. He was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Terry and grandson, Eric Wilhoit, and brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Helen Wilhoit.
Dick was an active and enthusiastic volunteer and involved in the Optimist Club of Hopkins and the Northwest Region, and the Lions Club and St. Isabel's Catholic Church, Sanibel, FL. His life long passion for the great game of golf, including his six holes-in-one achieved after age 60, will long be remembered.
Mass of Christian burial was held in Hopkins, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to The Shattuck-St. Mary's School, P.O. Box 218 Faribault, MN 55021, St. Labre Indian Mission, Ashland, MT 59004, Boys and Girls Ranch, P.O. Box 5007, Minot ND 58720, or donor's choice.
A memorial service will be held in Fort Myers at a later date.
