Richard Zaborowski Obituary
April 21, 2017
Richard was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 28, 1959 and passed away on April 21, 2017 after a long illness. He is survived by his sisters, Dianna Humphreys and Sandy Millis; brother, Jeff Zaborowski; nephews, Michael Humphreys and Tyler Millis; and niece, Nikki Zaborowski, in addition to many friends that he considered family. He is pre-deceased by his mother, Terry Zaborowski; uncle, Frank Gajderowicz and brother-in-law, Michael James Humphreys.
Richard (Rick) has lived in the Fort Myers area since he was 10 and most recently resided in Fort Myers Beach. He loved his sailboat, his Harley and his VW Bus which he affectionately referred to as his "Shaggin' Wagon." Richard loved to play his bongos and participated in many drum circles. He made friends and helped anyone he met, always leaving a smile on their face. He loved to travel and take pictures, especially of sunsets.
Richard was in construction in his early years and had many businesses including running a moped stand and having his own soft pretzel and snow cone stand. He was a true entrepreneur! A free spirit who loved life to the fullest, his personality was truly infectious.
A celebration of his life will be held at Bonita Bill's Waterfront Café, 702 Fisherman's Wharf, Fort Myers Beach 33931 on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 6 pm. All are welcome to come share a memory or story about Richard (Rick).

Oh Rick it is so hard with you not being here . I miss your calls on my birthday and any other time also . I haven't been back to Fla. since you passed away . I never though you would be gone from Ft. Myers . I thank God for being able to spend the last days with you. I miss you so much Rick . Hope to see you again some day . Love you my friend . ❤❤❤❤

Rick your friend Ron and I were just talking about you last night . How much we missed you . You were my special friend and more till the end of your life . I miss you every day , especially your laugh . I especially miss my call from you on my birthday and holidays . I miss hearing my voice mail Jillian where are you ? We had a bond way beyond friendship . I will love you till the day I earn my wings . Love and miss you Ricky .

My sympathies to his family, and those that were close to him. I met Rick in middle school and spent time with him until we were in our twenties, he was a fun guy and had a good heart. What sticks in my mind is that he always treated me with respect.

Deepest sympathies sent to all of Richard's family and many friends. Richard is one of my favorite people I've gotten to know on FMB.. a true heart of gold and always made me smile and laugh. He would check in on me when he knew I was going through something and try to get me out of the house to cheer me up... just a great soul! I so wish I could've been there for him.. I will miss him dearly.

Sending prayers to your family at this time . I'm so glad I was able to be there for you during your time of need . I'm gonna miss you Rick , we have been friends forever it seems like . I was your first true love and am so proud to be able to say that . I will miss those beautiful blue eyes and your humor . We had some great memories that I'll never forget . Thank you Dianna , Jeff and Sandy for letting me be with him all week before his passing in Hospice . You took a piece of my heart with you that morning at 4 10 a.m. I stayed awake as long as I could . You went peacefully and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way . I love you my sweet friend and I am going to miss you dearly . I can't think of Ft . Myers being the same without you . Fly high my sweet angel , I know you will keep me safe .

Rick and I go way back , I was his first true love . We had so many great times together . If something could be done he would do it . One of the kindest people I have ever met . We have remained friends for almost 40 years . I lost a very special friend that Friday morning . I thank his family for letting me be by his side all week and at his passing . He would have done the same for me . I love you Rick , you took a piece of my heart with you that morning when you left this world . You fought hard and I am so proud of everything you have accomplished in your life . Forever in my thoughts . I'm gonna miss our phone calls and those beautiful blue eyes . I love you , fly high my angel . I know you will still be watching over me . Prayers to your family .
