Robert Jorgensen Obituary
August 6, 2013
Robert R. Jorgensen, 80, of Fort Myers, formerly of New Hartford, NY passed away peacefully on August 6, 2013. Bob leaves behind his loving wife, Valerie, 4 children; Chris (Wendy), Lynne (Jerry) Abbott, Mark (Diane) and Brian (Maria) along with 9 grandchildren. Bob was one of 18 brothers and sisters, leaving a large extended family to mourn his loss.
Bob was retired from Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica, NY. During his retirement years Bob worked at Gulf Harbor Yacht and Country Club and The Club at Renaissance as a starter.
Funeral services will take place in New Hartford, NY. Memorial contributions may be sent to: The Robert Jorgensen Athletic Scholarship, c/o Mohawk Valley Community College Foundation, 1101 Sherman Drive, Utica, NY 13501. Friends may sign the guest book at www.horizonfunerals.com.

My sincere sympathies to Coach Jorgensen's family. He was a great person and coach. It was a good and fun time in my life to have been a member of the MVCC's golf team under Coach Jorgensen's leadship. I got to travel to the NJCAA tournaments in 1969 and 1970 with Coach and the golf team. He has been in my thoughts many times over the years. He will be missed.

My condolences to the Jorgensen family. Bob Jorgensen gave me my first job as an adjunct faculty member in the PE department at MVCC and it changed my life. He was a wonderful person.

Mark and family...so sorry to hear of Dad's passing. You may know that he and I spent many great days together when I was active in the NYS Golf Association. He made what I call the greatest decision at a tournament I had ever observed. Tell you about it sometime. Always a perfect gentleman and outstanding represenative of the Association.

Dear Valerie and family, Sorry to hear of Bob's passing. It brings back memories of living on Hillside Ave and babysitting. You were the first family that I had sat for at night and my grandfather Harold Simon kept checking on me. If only we could go back to those times and the fun we had. My prayers are with you.
