SUSAN BALL Obituary
FEBRUARY 4, 1961 - OCTOBER 7, 2012
Susan passed away unexpectedly at her home in Bonita Springs, Sunday, October 7, 2012.
She is survived by her mother, Joan Robbins Ball of West Palm Beach, beloved brother Joseph Tracey Ball IV, his wife Leslie Watkins Ball and son, Jayden, of North Ft. Myers; Aunt and Uncle, Susan and Angelo Agnelli of Naples, FL and Como, Italy; cousins Bert Lee, Marta Lee Spaulding, and Diana Lee Carey. She was proceeded in death by her father, Joseph T. Ball III in 2008.
Susan was born in Miami, FL in Baptist Hospital and was raised in Coral Gables. The family moved to Yorktown, VA where she graduated from York High School in 1979. She attended Randolph Macon College in Ashland, VA and received her degree in computer science from Florida Gulf Coast University in Ft.Myers.
Raised in the restaurant business, Susan became interested, and then an expert in wines. She was a Sommelier and had worked for the Ritz-Carlton-Naples for 10 years and was presently employed by the Bay Colony Club in Naples, FL. She traveled extensively to Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Australia and California to improve her knowledge and understanding of all aspects of wine.
Susan enjoyed a wide variety of experiences. As a child she studied piano and was an accomplished equestrienne. She traveled to central FL in the late 80's to ride and help break wild horses. She played french horn in Jr. High and field hockey in High School. Her interest in art and creativity was displayed in her work with ceramics and mosaic tiles.
Her adventurous side emerged when she went fishing with her brother on his boat, white water rafting, and mountain climbing last month with family in PA and then Mt. Rushmore in South Dakota. She was planning a major climb next year with friends from the Bay Colony Club to Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak.
Susan was a loyal friend to those she worked with and met along her life journey. She spoke often of them..
A memorial service to celebrate Susan's life will be held at Grace Church, 13 SE 21st Place, Cape Coral, FL 33990 (239) 574-7161 on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 11:00. Friends are invited to join us in Susan's celebration. Donations can be made in her name to The Epilepsy Foundation.

Hi Joan and Joe,
I think what I just wrote didn't send, so will try again. I wanted to let you know that we are planning a 40th YHS reunion and it took my breath away when I saw "deceased" by Susan's name. I have wondered and wondered over the years where she was, tried to find her on Facebook, and even drove by your old house in Yorktown last summer trying to find any sign of your family. I'm so glad I found this page today, and hope you get this message. I wanted you to know that I have such fond high school memories of Susan and have thought about her over the years and asked around as to her whereabouts. We will pay tribute to her, as well as 6 or 7 other classmates who have passed away, at the reunion in September. I am so sorry for your loss. Rest in peace, Susan.
