William August Luedtke, 82 of Fort Myers, Florida passed away July 28, 2011 at Health Park Hospital. Bill was born in Sioux City, Iowa on September 20, 1928 to Verna and August Luedtke. He moved with his parents to La Crosse, Wisconsin in 1934 and graduated from Central High School in 1946. Bill was active in Demolay and earned his Eagle Scout award in 1943. He served as assistant scoutmaster at his troop and served several years on the staff at the Wisconsin State Fair. Bill graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1952 with a bachelors degree in Pharmacology. While at school he belonged to Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity and later became a Freemason and was raised at Salem Lodge #125 in West Salem, Wisconsin. He was a member of Zor Temple and Araba Temple in Fort Myers, Florida.

He bought his first pharmacy in Bangor, Wisconsin and later opened stores in West Salem and Onalaska. In 1973 he escaped the cold and moved to Florida. He and his wife, Virginia, have been married for 31 years. Bill and Ginnie operated several pharmacies in Fort Myers and Cape Coral, Florida and jointly owned Cypress Pharmacy. He retired in 1991.

Besides being a Badger and Packer fan, Bill was an avid golfer, and was always willing to give you a tip or two! In 1982 Bill and Ginnie moved to Fiddlesticks Country Club where they enjoyed many years and many wonderful friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and brother Wallace. He is survived by his wife Virginia, daughters Barbara (Rich) Davis of Onalaska, Wisconsin, Nancy (John) Stouffer of Dallas, Texas, Kent (Mary) Reisdorph and Nancy Kress both of Fort Myers, grandchildren Brad and Stephan Davis, Lynn (Reisdorph) Nealon, Kara Reisdorph and Matthew Kress.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the William Luedtke PGA Golf Management Scholarship Fund at Florida Gulf Coast University, FGCU Foundation, 10501 FGCU Blvd. S. Fort Myers, FL 33965-6565.

A Celebration of his Life will be held at Olde Hickory Clubhouse, 14670 Olde Hickory Blvd., Fort Myers FL on Wednesday, August 3 at 2:00 p.m.
