William Shula Obituary


Obituary

William "Bill" Shula, died Nov. 23, 1998, in Fort Myers, Fla. Born March 1, 1925, in Rochester, Indiana, to Frank Shula and Cecil Emmons. He was predeceased by his parents; his second wife, Kathleen, nee Kelly; sister, Sheila (John) Methgan; brothers, James, Thomas, and John Shula; daughter, Mary Ellen Shula; grandchildren, Richard Wagener, Thomas Keltner, Hanna Grace Shula, and Kelly Rose Shula.

Survivors include his wife, Lori M. Shula; first wife, Eleanor (nee) Lawson; sisters, Francine (John) Wetzel, Cecile Shula; brother, Frank Shula; and his children, Ellen (Dennis) Bekeza, Peggy (Robert) Siksnus, William F. II (Sylvia) Shula, Martin (Donna) Shula, Patricia (Mark) Iverson, James (Margaret) Shula, Daniel Shula, David (Julie) Shula, and Denise (Matt) Lord; also, 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Bill honorably served his country in WWII as a Navy Storekeeper.

Bill enjoyed early careers as Grain Broker on the Board of Trade and restaurateur in the Chicago area. During his retirement in Fort Myers, he delivered the Wall Street Journal and was a Medical Courier.

The family suggests memorial donations be made to Abuse Counseling Treatment Center, P.O. Box 60401, Fort Myers, FL 33906.

Services were private. Arrangements by National Cremation Society.
