JOE H. HIGNITE Funeral services for Joe H Hignite, 90, of Shawnee, will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday August 1st, at Resthaven Chapel. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Joe H Hignite, the son of Joe Hignite and Alma (Rose) Hignite, was born July 24, 1933. He passed away July 22, 2024. Joe was married to Gwynne Caughman and this union was blessed with two sons. On August 17, 1964 Joe Married Laquita June Pittman growing his family by three daughters. They were married for 51 years, until her death in 2015. Joe worked as a General Contractor building custom homes and later in life as a wood craftsman. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Laquita June Hignite, five brothers, Herman, Hubert, Homer, Haskell, and Jerry Lee Hignite, along with 3 sisters Vina Presley, Judy and Charlotte Myers, grandson Jason Dickenson and companion of 9 years Charlotte Gower. Those left to cherish his memory are two sons, Mark Tracy Hignite and wife Debbie, Gordon Hignite and wife Elida, Three Daughters Vickie Emerson and wife Stephanie, Robin Klaser and husband John, Jeaneana Dickenson along with two sisters Bernice Albright and husband, Jeff, and sister Gussie Brown, eight grandchildren, Jennifer and husband DJ Loney, Philip Hignite and wife Brittany , Eric Hignite, Dorianne Esteva, Jeremy Emerson, Kaylee Harris and husband Cody, Zac Klaser and husband Steven, and Seth Spears, Brothers and sister in law Henry and Darla Pittman, Donald Pittman, and Joe David Pittman Six great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends
