MARY NEW Obituary

MARY ALICE PECORE NEW Mary Alice Pecore New of Shawnee walked on August 14, 2023. Mary Alice was looking forward to her approaching 80th birthday. She devoted her life immersed in the Catholic church. Mary Alice split her time between Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Seminole and St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Shawnee. She found joy in helping others. Mary Alice was a proud member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation. She enjoyed the opportunity to participate in the annual Reunion Festivals as well as bus trips to the Gathering of Potawatomi Nations. She enjoyed crafting and gardening in her free time. Family was a very important part of Mary Alice's life. She is survived by her sisters Catherine A. Oglesby and Peggy Pecore as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Autwin B. and Iness Pecore; her brothers Anthony, Edward, and David Pecore; her sister Delia Zientek; brothers-in-law John Oglesby and Julian Zientek and sister-in-law Frankie Pecore Bland; nephews Anthony 'Tony' Pecore and Philip A. Oglesby; nieces Lissia I. Pecore and Sherrie A. Pecore; and ex-husband Forrest Wayne New. She will be missed by many. A mass of Christian burial will be held on August 26 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Benedict's Catholic Church.
