PAUL LOFTON 10/27/1941 - 10/13/2025 Paul Emmitt Lofton passed from this life to heaven on Monday, October 13, 2025. He was born October 27, 1941, in Seminole, Okla., to Elmer Emmitt Lofton and Dora "Pauline" Sneed Lofton. He grew up in and graduated from Bowlegs, Okla. Paul was blessed to have a younger brother, Robert Andrew, for his best friend. They helped on the farm and at their father's Phillips 66 gas station in Seminole learning the value of hard work as well as how to fix things. In the fall of 1961, Paul met the girl of his dreams when she came in to buy groceries at the local grocery store where he was employed. He wrote Kay Lynn Maxwell's name and number on his apron. The two were married a few months later in an intimate ceremony with family and friends on December 30, 1961. Over the next 13 years they would be blessed with two daughters and two sons. In almost 64 years of marriage and adventures, 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild have been added. Their legacy will continue to grow. Paul attended both Seminole Jr. College and Okmulgee Tech. During his years of employment, he worked at Civil Engineering in OKC as a design engineer at both Beech Aircraft in Liberal, Kan., and North American Rockwell in Norman, Okla., and then as an outside plant engineer at SW Bell until he retired in December 1991. In January 1992 he was called back to work as a consultant for SW Bell South, US West, GTE, and General Dynamics overseeing work on telephone systems traveling together with Kay, who worked alongside him, all over the lower 48 states, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Japan, and Okinawa. He retired again in October 2003. Always involved with church activities and the Lord's work, Paul also served as an elder at Dale Church of Christ, Lakeview Church of Christ, and Northridge Church of Christ. He and Kay oversaw the World Bibles ministry at Northridge for many years sending Bibles all around the world. To the children at church, he was "the sucker man" passing out Dum Dum suckers with a smile each Sunday. To all, he was a knowledgeable Bible teacher, a compassionate ear and wise counsel, and a humble shepherd. As hobbies Paul enjoyed fishing and hunting. He could work on and fix almost anything around the house or garage and was a skilled craftsman in woodworking. He loved blessing others with his talent whether making simple shelves or swords for the grandchildren, building storage sheds, remodeling kitchens for his daughters as well as their own home, or bringing his wife's beautiful designs to life. Besides his Savior, Paul loved nothing more than his family. Family gatherings and trips were a time of laughter, reminiscing, and making more memories. Whenever possible he attended their grandchildren's events. He welcomed each addition to the family like they truly belonged and made them feel loved and valued. His warmth, wisdom, and genuine love will be missed daily. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Pauline Lofton, and his great-granddaughter, Thea Eleanor Ackland. Surviving Paul are his wife, Kay Lynn Lofton; daughter Marcie Ellen and husband Phillip Pennington, children Joel and Adam Pennington; daughter Pamela Dawn and husband Gregory White, children Kora and husband Aaron Ackland, grandchildren Oliver, Mabel, and Daisey; Jesse and wife Mary White, grandchildren Shilo, Simon, and Lucy; Clayton and wife Katherine White, grandchild Theodore; and Isaiah Emmitt White; son Richard Paul and wife Denise Lofton, children Joshua and Bethany Lofton, grandchild Evelyn (Evie); Ryan and wife Madison (Madi) Lofton; Danielle Lofton and fiancé Cole Mills; son Brian Emmitt and wife Sue Lofton, children Tonya Wapskineh, grandchildren Wazhozha and Neshoba; Lorie and husband Legus Hummingbird, grandchildren Echota and Waleli; Annah Wapskineh and husband Ramon, grandchildren Zaviah with great-grandchild Zareyah Losi, and Zykhius; brother Robert and wife Janice Lofton; plus many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A Memorial Service will be held on October 26, 2025, at Northridge Church of Christ in Shawnee, Okla., 1001 E. MacArthur St. at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in support of Paul's grandson at Sunset International Bible Institute.
