ROBERT WRIGHT Jr.

ROBERT WRIGHT JR. 08/23/1936 - 11/10/2025 Robert Melvin Wright Jr., 89, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, went to be with his Lord on Monday, November 10, 2025. Robert was born on August 23, 1936, in Crescent, Okla., to Robert M. Wright Sr. and Dorothy (England) Wright. He attended school at Guthrie, Okla., where he graduated in 1954. Robert married the love of his life, Reba (Bailey) Wright, on June 28, 1982, and made Shawnee their home for the remainder of their loving marriage. Robert served and was honorably discharged after completing four years of service in the U.S. Air Force. He then worked for 26 years as a civilian at Tinker Air Force Base before retiring early. He then spent the following 25 years as an HVAC technician. Some of his passions included being a vintage car enthusiast, taking long road trips, and creating cabinetry and furniture utilizing his woodworking skills. He was a faithful member of Wallace Avenue Baptist Church. Preceding him in death were his grandparents; his parents, Robert and Dorothy Wright; his wife, Reba (Bailey) Wright; his sisters, Mary (Wright) Peterson, and Betty (Wright) Roth; and his brother, Zeb Vance Wright II. Surviving family members are brother-in-law, Tommy Baily of Shawnee; sister-in-law, Linda (Bailey) Rayfield of Oklahoma City and her sons Richie and Jeff Rayfield; niece, Dawn Hindle of California; niece, Patricia (Roth) Anderson of Salina, Kan.; niece, Brenda (Wright) Johnson of Moore, Okla.; nephew, Chris Wright of Norman, Okla.; niece, Angela (Wright) Amos of Noble; also numerous other relatives and friends. Robert will be greatly missed. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel in Tecumseh, Okla. Graveside will be at 2 p.m., Friday, November 14, 2025, at Tecumseh Cemetery officiated by DeWayne Colvin under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
