TIMOTHY MAX "TIM" RAINS Timothy Max "Tim" Rains, 60, of Shawnee, Okla. passed away on August 19, 2023, in Shawnee. Tim was born December 4, 1962, in Wellington, Kan., a son of John Max and Carlene Elizabeth (Posey) Rains. At age 17, Tim moved to Shawnee and met the love of his life, Phyllis Lynn Anderson. They were married on October 22, 1986, in Shawnee, where he spent the rest of his life. Tim was a jack-of-all-trades. He did roofing and carpentry. Then in the early 1990's he began his career as an auto mechanic, eventually opening his own shop "Rains Automotive" in the early 2000's where he worked diligently until the recent tornado came and decided it was time to retire. Tim and Phyllis enjoyed fishing, camping, riding motorcycles, road trips and spending time with family and friends. Tim is survived by his wife, Phyllis Lynn Rains of Shawnee; and three children: son, Emmanuel Wayne Rains (Allison) of Shawnee, daughter Trudy Russell of Shawnee, and son Jackie Peace of Shawnee; six grandchildren; brother, John Rains Jr. of Tulsa; and many extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Max and Carlene Elizabeth Rains; granddaughter, Hannah Lynn Bailey Russell; and a brother and sister. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Cooper Funeral Home in Tecumseh and continue until service time. Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Shawnee under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
