George Hensley Obituary
George Lynn Hensley, 72, of Lake Murray, S.C. (formerly of Lenoir City, TN) left his earthly home for his Heavenly home on May 29, 2024.
With his sharp mind, George loved a good competitive Scrabble game. His passion was being on the water soaking up the sun - either on his boat on Lake Murray or on the beach.
He was preceded in death by his parents George L. Hensley and June Garner Hensley.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Dora Butler Hensley; sons Shawn Hensley and Joshua Hensley; granddaughters, Kelshan Hensley Peets (Jacob), Kaileigh Hensley and Dagny Hensley; brothers and sisters, Theodore Hensley, Rebecca Dye (Gary), Douglas Hensley and Carol Anne Clowers (Jeff); brothers-in-law, John Butler (Tammy) and Fred Butler (Christy) of Aynor, S.C.; special niece Andrea Hensley, many loving nieces and nephews; and his faithful service dog Dexter.
George will be cremated and the spreading of his ashes will be private for the family. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic B-L Chapel is assisting the family.
