Elizabeth Ponton Obituary
Elizabeth was a graduate of the Lynchburg General School of Nursing. She nursed in Grundy, Va., and Wilmington, Dela. before returning to Virginia in 1973 to care for her widowed mother with her dear friend, Joan G. Lang. Elizabeth was also an active member of Calvary Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Alice P. White Fulcher, Virginia P. Tinsley, Bernice P. Sprouse and Katherine P. Adams, and brothers, William S. Ponton, B. Elwood Ponton, Floyd C. Ponton, and Robert L. Ponton.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and staff at Heritage Green and Centra Hospice for all their loving care shown to their loved one.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Jonesboro Baptist Church by the Rev. John Campbell and the Rev. Jeremy Humphrey with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Elizabeth Ponton Healthcare Trust c/o Calvary Baptist Church, P.O. 264, Lovingston, VA 22949.
