Ann Turner Obituary

Ann Henderson Turner, 73, of 2626 North Main Street, Danville, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2006 in Piney Forest Health Care Center.
She was born July 11, 1932 in Halifax County to the late Oscar Hale Henderson and Nannie Orrell Henderson.
Mrs. Turner was educated in Halifax County, attended Madison College, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in education. She taught briefly in the Danville School system, but retired from teaching with the Rockingham County school system in North Carolina.
She was a longtime member of Melville Avenue Baptist Church, where she served as treasurer, and in many other capacities until her health no longer allowed her to do so.
Mrs. Turner is survived by a daughter, Suzanna T. Mayhew of Ringgold; son-in-law, Randy Mayhew of Danville; grandson, John Wesley Turner of Danville; and a sister-in-law, Louise B. Henderson of Nathalie. She was preceded in death by five brothers.
A funeral service will be held Monday, June 5, 2006 at 2 p.m. from the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel by the Rev. Charles Swanson and the Rev. Dr. A. C. Smith. Interment will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation today from 7-8:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
